‘Ethereum Is Going Hard’: Vitalik Buterin Backs Censorship Resistance Upgrade

Ethereum is doubling down on its cypherpunk roots. Builders have scheduled Fork-Selection Enforced Inclusion Lists, or FOCIL, because the consensus-layer headliner for the community’s upcoming Hegota improve.

The Hegota improve is a coordinated change to the community’s core guidelines that builders count on to roll out within the second half of 2026. The proposal, entered as EIP-7805, is designed to make sure that Ethereum stays censorship-resistant on the protocol stage by forcing validators to incorporate all transactions.
